Curious Sound Broadcast on 97.7 Hitz FM - April 2005
Thanks to Errol Bruce-Knapp of Mind/Shift, Steven Kowch of CFRB, The staff and management of CKTB, The staff and management of 97.7 Hitz FM, the staff at Standard Radio Inc. our own Sue Darroch and our reader/submitter of the report...
The following was sent to Sue Darroch on Friday, April 8th, 2005...
"...tonight while listening to 97.7FM rock stn. at 10:25pm and a DJ named Paul filling in for a women,claimed today around 9:00am while a contestant by phone was speaking a "devil's" voice cut in and spoke cutting the caller off in sound.Paul the DJ said,alot of "weird stuff has been happening around this station. You may want to call the station, they are located in St.Catherine's. Home of the ice rings found this past winter."
We spoke of this instance on our regular "radio column" on CFRB's Mind/Shift with Errol Bruce-Knapp the evening of Saturday, April 9th, 2005. (Click here to hear that snippet from Mind/Shift... Real Media Player needed to hear the clip.)
Errol and his production team were kind enough to grab the sound from their sister station (CFRB and CKTB/Hitz FM are both owned by Standard Radio Inc.) and send it to us.
Madelyn (sorry, was not sent your last name,) from the St. Catharine's station sent us the following clip which is said to be the original "sound".
"The incident happened on the morning show. I think it was just a case of wonky phone lines." says Madelyn in her mail to us.
